Prepper Basics and Mindset
What Are Prepper Basics? This is a question that I have asked at prepper meetups, shows, and on prepper forums. The answers are always food, water, medical supplies, weapons, and ammunition. These are all important and necessary items but what about your mindset are you really prepared to be a survivor? You will have all the preps you need and still not be prepared.
Think About This
You must be prepared to defend what you have. Are you prepared to say no to your friends and neighbors when they weren’t prepared? Could you actually point your rifle at someone and squeeze the trigger?
You have to be prepared to make some hard decisions when you or your families life may depend on it. You will have to have the right mindset, in my opinion, this is the one most important preps.
Food, water, medical supplies, weapons, and ammunition are all important prepper basics. Mindset is what will separate preppers from survivalists.
There should be no question when someone is kicking in your door or attacking you. You are 911 in that situation. Decide now to develop the survivalist mindset because after SHTF it’s too late.
For most veterans, this won’t be a problem but for the average joe, it could be tough. I can’t tell you how to develop such a mindset. I can say that when you develop it your chances of survival improve.
So while working on your prepper basics work on your mindset. Learn to say no or maybe slam the door in a salesman’s face. You don’t have to be a total jerk but you need to learn to be more assertive when you say no. Believe me that salesman will keep coming back until you say no slam the door in his face.
OK, that wasn’t an SHTF scenario but it’s as good a place to start as any other.
Think about it.
